Meet Our Leadership

Ken was called to Pastor Silver Hills upon the retirement of Ben Fleming. He now serves as the primary teaching elder. Ken has a Masters in Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelors in Christian Leadership from William Jessup University. He has been in the ministry for over 20 years in various parts of California, Texas, Guam & Kentucky. Many of these moves were due to the fact that Ken is a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He and his wife, Angela have been married for over 23 years, and have 4 children Bella, Mikayla & Titus (Gabriel was an early miscarriage & is in heaven). Ken has been serving at Silver Hills Church since July, 2022.

Phil Brady has been serving as an elder at Silver Hills for years. He preaches when called upon, and plays the drums on Sundays. He has a B.A. in both English Literature and Journalism in the field of advertising from the University of Nevada, Reno and an M.A. in Humanities with an emphasis in literature and film from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Brady, as he likes to be called, teaches Language Arts at Carson High School and works part-time at Pilgrim Radio. He met his wife of over 30 years, Stacie, while at Youth With a Mission. They have two married daughters, Bekah and Elise, and a severely disabled son, Samuel. Brady currently leads one of our small groups.

Loran Kelley is a newly commissioned Elder. He has been married to his wife, Twana, for over 20 years. His daughter, Morgan is married to Jacob Willey and they have two children (not pictured). His daughter Ryleigh is in elementary school. More Background info to come.

Ezra is a newly commissioned elder, where he serves wherever he is needed. He preaches when called upon and plays on the worship team. Ezra is bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows him to minister to a more diverse community and build meaningful connections with people from different backgrounds. He works in landscaping and is currently pursuing his seminary degree at Gateway Seminary to continue growing in his knowledge of God's Word. Ezra and his wife, Angelica, have been married for over 11 years and are raising their three children Genesis, Nathaniel, and Harmony. Ezra is always ready to step in and encourage the church family through humble service and faithful leadership.

Larry hails from Kenosha, Wisconsin where he became a believer at an early age and was very involved in church-life from childhood. He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from the University of Wisconsin while helping to plant an SBC church. During his college age, he became President of the local Intervarsity chapter and was a stateside summer missionary. It was during this time he accepted the call to full-time ministry. From there, he continued with missions work in New York, then attended New Orleans Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Religious Education. He has served in various church positions such as Music, Youth & Education, as well as serving on many SBC Associational & State Conventions. Larry was licensed and ordained as a pastor by North Shore Baptist Church in Long Island, New York. He spent the majority of his ministry years-over 18 years- as a senior pastor of Pacific View Baptist Church in Cardiff by the Sea, California. In his retirement, He and his wife, Vivian, of over 40 years relocated to Carson City, where their adult son, Tim, daughter-in-law, Laura and grandkids Oakley, Harper and Gabriel reside. Their daughter, Sara Hudson resides in Portland, Oregon. Larry is a joyful Elder and can almost always be seen with a smile. He wanted to express, “I give all glory to God for salvation, for Jesus my King, to the Holy Spirit comforter, guide, His churches, and for Vivian, my God given wife and earthly companion.”

Ben is the founding pastor of Silver Hills. He planted the Church in 1996 having earned a BA in Horticulture from West Virginia University and a Masters in Divinity from the International School of Theology. Ben & his family spent time doing missions work in South Africa for six years and Swaziland for three years with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru). Ben has been married to his wife, Cheryl, for over 43 years and they have three adult children, Benjamin, Mandy & Becca with 6 beloved grandchildren (with another in heaven). Ben currently leads one of our small groups and provides much needed wisdom to the entire church body. Outside of the church, Ben serves as a volunteer chaplain for the Carson Tahoe Hospital.
